Most are heavily abused. Thats the problem with cars that encourage you to put them to the limits. No one was gentle to them. Incredible amount of money and original parts are needed to make it a truly ultimate driving machine again. Otherwise its just a pile of rust that happened to be a bmw in the past, now pretending with m badges. Because worn out engine, gearbox and (very importantly) suspension can make handling as poor as in some random minivan (and of course then all the reasons for which you buy a bmw disappear - especially handling. Everything squeaks and there is as much fun as in the old daily commuter - with the difference that the second one was cheaper). Also add unprofessional mods to the equation (most things made on those cars are unprofessional). Then the only 'bmw' thing about it is the logo and owner who thinks he drives 'a bmw'.
